In the Time Of Peace

Today, all swords are silent,

A great tragedy has ended,

A brief peace is beginning,

A great triumph has been seized.

Blue skies rain water, not blood,

Fog from dew, not smoke,

Men are showered with roses, not gore.

Swords are lifted,

Not to kill, but to salute the dead,

Meals are eaten in peace, not fear,

Armor is donned for tourneys, not war,

Men walk, uncrippled and proud,

The world is quiet, but for festivities,

During the time of peace.
