Perfect Days
I was introduced once to a book that asked a very simple, yet intricate, question.
Do you believe in the perfect day?
And recently, I've begun to realize something. Something that is misinterpreted. See, what we all think of when we imagine a perfect day is one in which nothing goes wrong. And that, my love, is where we get it all wrong.
A perfect day is not a day in which nothing goes wrong. Aversely, a perfect day is one where almost EVERYTHING goes wrong. However, there is at least one moment within that day where everything is perfect. I'm talking about that moment when you're on a swing and you're in between falling and rising. That moment when you feel weightless and free. The moment where time stands still and nothing is wrong in the world. And that one perfect moment makes the rest of the world, the rest of your day, bearable until that next perfect moment.
That is what makes a perfect day. And since I've met you, my UltraViolet, I have had more perfect days than I can count. Because my perfect moments with you are worth it. They make up for not just one shitty day, but for every day that I've lived without you. And I know I'm not too great at expressing my feelings and emotions verbally, which is really the reason I don't write as much anymore, but I want you to know, you are worth it. You have my soul, and all my perfect days, for now and forever. Te amo, y te extrano mucho.
