Unwanted Pain

You don't need another hit. You don't need another smoke. Your lungs have already collapsed. Your liver can't handle it anymore. Spare yourself the pain.
“But I can still hear her laugh. I can still see her smile. I still feel her touch, see her eyes gazing back into mine. How was I to know that I wasn't loved? How was I to know that I loved so deeply for a person who couldn't possibly notice? How does that go away? When does the pain end? I remember every word she spoke, I still remember the way she looked when she walked away. I still hear her, even in my loudest moments. And my heart can't handle that. My mind can't cope with that. So my liver and lungs need to hold up until the taste of her is off my lips. I would still stand by her side and endure all the pain, even though she was the one who caused it to begin with.”
